Ralph T. Heap, M.D.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and board certified by the American Board for Orthopedic Surgeons, Ralph T. Heap, M.D., is an orthopedic and reconstructive surgeon, who specializes in total joint arthroscopy.
Prior to joining the AZ Center for Bone & Joint Disorders, Dr. Heap provided orthopedic care at a general orthopedic practice that is affiliated with Mesa Lutheran Hospital, Desert Samaritan Hospital, Chandler Regional Hospital, Valley Lutheran Hospital and Arizona Orthopedic Surgical Hospital. He completed pre-medical studies at Arizona State University in Tempe, then went on to earn his medical degree and complete his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson.
A humanitarian at heart, Dr. Heap has generously contributed his orthopedic and medical expertise to several developing countries — including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Tonga, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Brazil, Belize and Mexico. He has served as a board member and active volunteer for such organizations as the Deseret Foundation, Esperanca, and the Beehive Foundation — all volunteer-based, non-profit organizations that provide health care to developing countries. |
